Tips
There is a very simple trick to know if your eutectic plate is perfectly frozen and ready to use: just shake the plate once you take it out of the freezer and if you hear the eutectic liquid moving inside the plate, it means that it has to go back to the cold to finish its recharge.
Recommandation
To facilitate your organization concerning your transports or your deliveries of heat sensitive products, we advise you to have between two and three sets of eutectic plates. This will allow you to ensure a rotation between your plates for some are refilled in the freezer while the others are used in your isothermal boxes.
Constitution
Our eutectic plates are manufactured with a rigid outer shell made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) to resist shocks, compression and punctures. These shells are filled with -16°C eutectic gel and closed with a crimped cap.
Robust
COLD & CO’s -16°C eutectic plates are robust with reinforced corners and various anchoring points.
Food contact
The eutectic plates are made of polyethylene, a non-toxic and environmentally friendly material.
The -16°C eutectic plates comply with the NF EN 12546-3 standard « Materials and articles in contact with foodstuffs – Insulating containers for domestic use – Part 3: specification for thermal accumulators. »
Installation of the plates
When placing your eutectic plates in your isothermal containers, we recommend that you use cold protection gloves to handle the frozen plates. When inserting them, and for a better refrigeration of your isothermal container, remember to place your eutectic plates in a specific order: first, at the top of your container, then, or if necessary, on the sides and finally at the bottom. This is important for a good reason, the cold air tends to go down !
