Use
The eutectic plate is used in addition to our CarryTemp classic, CarryTemp XL and PPE Distrifresh professional boxes.
It is used by pharmaceutical groups, pharmaceutical distributors, pharmacies, medical analysis laboratories and medical transport professionals.
Instructions of use
The +5°C eutectic plates have been specially designed for heat-sensitive health products in the +2°C / +8°C temperature range. These eutectic plates can be used whatever the season thanks to its heating and cooling modes.
If the outside temperature is on average above +5°C, use the +5°C solid state eutectic plates in cooling mode according to a 2-step protocol:
1. Pre-charge your +5°C eutectic plates between -15°C and -30°C for at least 24 hours until a solid state is obtained.
2. To avoid a cold peak, stabilize your eutectic plates at +5°C between 30mn and 12h (depending on the quantity of plate to stabilize) before introducing your plates in your isothermal container.
If the average outdoor temperature is below +5°C, use the +5°C eutectic plates in liquid state in a 2-step protocol:
1. Pre-charge your +5°C eutectic plates to a temperature above 12°C until a liquid state is obtained.
2. To avoid a hot peak, stabilize your eutectic plates at +5°C between 30mn and 12h (depending on the quantity of plate to stabilize) before introducing your plates in your isothermal container.
To speed up recharging and stabilization, consider arranging the plates in staggered rows or allowing air to circulate between the plates.

Tips
To check the liquid or solid state of your +5°C eutectic plate, just shake it and listen! If you hear a sound or feel the eutectic liquid moving inside the shell of your plate, it means that the gel is not yet fully charged.
Recommandation
To save time during your transport or delivery rounds, we advise you to have two or even three sets of eutectic plates. This will allow you to recharge one set while the first is in use.
Constitution
The eutectic plates have a rigid outer shell made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) to resist impact, compression and puncture. These shells are filled with eutectic liquid +5°C and then closed with a crimped cap.
Robust
The eutectic plates are robust with reinforced corners and anchor points.
Contact alimentaire
The eutectic plates are made of polyethylene, a non-toxic and environmentally friendly material.
The eutectic plates +5°C meet the NF EN 12546-3 standard “Materials and articles in contact with foodstuffs – Insulating containers for domestic use – Part 3: specification for thermal accumulators”.
Installation of the plates
Although our +5°C eutectic plates are at room temperature when they are not charged, it is necessary to put them in the freezer so that they accumulate cold. Therefore, when inserting them in your isothermal boxes, we recommend that you use cold protection gloves. As for their placement in the isothermal container, please keep a simple notion in mind: cold air goes down! The first plate should be placed at the top of the box, and if more plates are to be added, it is important to put the sides before the bottom.
