COLD & CO offers the CarryTemp XL, a new temperature sorting container that can be integrated into a dry vehicle.
The world of frozen food, July 2019
COLD & CO has been developing autonomous and customized isothermal solutions for fifteen years. The specialist works in particular on alternative solutions to the use of a refrigerated truck or as a complement to existing vehicle fleets. These containers combine advantages in terms of weight, flexibility and noise pollution, for isothermal performance equivalent to that of rigid solutions or those built into a vehicle.
COLD & CO has several big names in its customer base, such as Chronofresh, Stuart and FM Logistic. The latest product from the equipment manufacturer is the CarryTemp XL, a container custom designed for the Nissan NV200 vehicle and compatible with other commercial vehicles such as the Citroën Jumpy. This container, which is integrated on the rear part of the vehicle, can contain up to 6 standard crocodile boxes (400 x 600 x 320mm), with a passive cold diffusion system, working simply on classic eutectic plates or dry ice for sub-zero temperatures.
Standard or custom made
Made of a multi-layered outer protective cover that encases a polyurethane box, the container weighs only 30 kg when empty, with a storage volume of 640 liters. This is a strong argument for the user, who can easily handle it “and can count on a robust solution that can withstand operating constraints”, adds our contact person, while also insisting on the absence of noise pollution.
COLD & CO and its CarryTemp XL range are at the heart of the news: “The great advantage of the CarryTemp is its “Plug & Play” configuration, which makes it possible to fit out the vehicle in mono, bi or tri-temperature according to the needs”, explains Lionel Caumette, sales manager.
